Life Lately
Monday was one of those days that makes me want to fist pump in awesomeness because it was a much needed day off from work and the perfect ending to a very relaxing and productive weekend. I sort of feel like a superhero when I hit that sweet spot of getting things done and slowing down to enjoy life at the same time.
I woke up to sunshine and enjoyed the quiet of a holiday morning while I drank coffee. I was productive from the get-go with errands. I got a great deal on a new pair of boots. There was no line, no waiting at the cellphone store where I had an awesome customer service experience in getting set up with an iPhone. Yes, late to the bandwagon as always, but it’s a new era in my life with smartphone technology. All of these awesome things then topped off with a FREE sandwich at lunch from the rewards program. If I was a betting woman, I probably should have played the lottery. I even made a killer dinner ( cauliflower chowder).
One of the big 2015 life goals was to be better about meal planning. I’m only a few weeks in, but I’m feeling the benefits of planning ahead. I haven’t been stressed out about dinners or made multiple trips to the market each week. We even went through all our vegetables this week and didn’t have to throw out any food waste ( minus a leftover pasta container that somehow squirreled its way to the back of the fridge). I even pre-cut the chicken and veggies for tonight’s dinner last night so I can save time after work and before yoga! Seriously, I’m so happy about these little things I could burst.
Is this what being a real adult is all about?
Hope things are going well over in your end of the world!
Dad would be Proud!!
Ahh, sunshine! That would be wonderful to see again. I’m trying to be better about meal planning too!
