Go, and embrace your liberty. And see what wonderful things come of it. – Little Women

How is it August?

Why I baffle at the last month of summer and where it went, I’m also happy to say that I am participating in VEDA ( Vlog Every Day in August), which is equal parts terrifying and exciting.VEDA Day 1

Update post on the house ( with a very big exciting thing happening- won’t tell yet at risk of jinxing myself), my garden, and a bunch else.

Last night I came home in the pouring rain and I saw a praying mantis on the corner of my porch. This morning as I was about to leave the house, that same praying mantis was on the center of the porch, directly in the way of where I would walk. Knowing how special these insects are, I left the house through the other door. I hope he is there when I get home today. I thought that seeing a praying mantis was good luck, but a few random internet searches turned up this little tidbit on the symbolism of the praying mantis:

The mantis comes to us when we need peace, quiet and calm in our lives. Usually the mantis makes an appearance when we’ve flooded our lives with so much business, activity, or chaos that we can no longer hear the still small voice within us because of the external din we’ve created.

After observing this creature for any length of time you can see why the symbolism of the praying mantis deals with stillness and patience. The mantis takes her time, and lives her life at her own silent pace.

Sort of eerie how spot on that is and how the universe sends us these little signs in life.
